About Dr. Sandra Mahoney, Ph.D., MSS, MSW
Welcome to TruePath Learning™! I’m Dr. Sandra Mahoney — the founder of TruePath Learning, LLC and your instructor for this course.
I’ve spent more than 30 years working in education and social work, beginning my career as a Clinical Social Worker and later moving into higher education as a faculty member, program developer, and academic leader. My professional journey has been guided by a commitment to equity, access, and evidence-based practice—principles that continue to shape how I teach, lead, and support student success.
Over the past two decades, I’ve taught more than 30 courses across six disciplines—Education, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, and the First-Year Experience. I’ve had the privilege of teaching in both classroom and online settings, mentoring students and professionals, and helping them connect theory to real-world practice.
Before transitioning to higher education, I directed an Employee Assistance Program, where I trained professionals in communication, resilience, and workplace well-being. That experience continues to inform my teaching today—especially my focus on professional growth, leadership, and human-centered learning.
